Singapore Airlines just quietly dropped one of the best award sales of the year. Most people will miss it.
It's called Spontaneous Escapes. Every month, Singapore takes a rotating list of routes and knocks 30% off the Saver award price. The catch is the booking window is short and the travel window is tight.
This round opened today, August 14. It closes August 31. Travel has to happen in September.
What "30% off" actually means
Award sales confuse people because the price is in miles, not dollars. So let me translate.
A Saver award is Singapore's cheapest award tier. Spontaneous Escapes takes that number and charges you 70% of it. If a Saver economy seat normally costs 35,000 miles, this sale drops it to 24,500. Same seat. Same flight. 10,500 fewer miles.
