Best time to visit
Year-round honestly. September and October are warmest with no June Gloom. March through May is perfect with wildflower blooms. Even winter rarely drops below 60°F.
Getting around
The trolley connects the airport to downtown, Old Town, and the border crossing for $2.50
Rent a car or e-bike for beach hopping — La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and OB are spread along the coast
The Coaster train runs along the coast to Encinitas and Oceanside. Scenic and cheap at $6
Lyft and Uber are reasonable here, especially splitting rides between beach neighborhoods

- ✓Parking at the beach fills by 10am on weekends. Take the trolley or arrive early
- ✓The best Mexican food is in Chula Vista and Barrio Logan, not the Gaslamp Quarter
