Neighborhoods
Old Town — The walkable downtown core: art galleries, Western-themed shops, brunch spots, and the nightlife strip along Saddlebag Trail
South Scottsdale — The arts district with craft breweries, murals, creative restaurants, and a younger, less resort-y vibe
North Scottsdale — Desert luxury: world-class resorts, championship golf courses, and trailheads into the McDowell Sonoran Preserve
Scottsdale Waterfront — Canal-side dining and shopping along the Arizona Canal. Saturday morning farmers' market here is excellent
Best time to visit
October through April for perfect 70 to 85°F weather. Summer is 110°F+ and resort prices drop 50% but outdoor activities are limited to early morning. January through March is peak season.
Getting around
You need a car here. Scottsdale is spread out and there's no real public transit worth using
Rideshare is plentiful and cheap for Old Town nightlife. $8 to $12 gets you anywhere in the bar district
Free trolley runs through Old Town on select days during peak season (check schedule)
Parking is free almost everywhere including Old Town garages. This isn't a paid-parking city

Tips
- ✓Hike early. By 9am in peak season (and 7am in summer) the desert is already hot. Bring more water than you think
- ✓Old Town nightlife is walkable and fun Thursday through Saturday. Start at Salty Sow, end up at Coach House or Bottled Blonde
- ✓Resort prices drop 40 to 60% in summer. If you can handle the heat (everything is air-conditioned), it's a steal
- ✓The Saturday Old Town Farmers' Market (October through May) is one of the best in Arizona. Go early for the best produce
