Tallinn is a fairy-tale medieval city that also happens to be the most digitally advanced in Europe. The UNESCO Old Town looks unchanged since the 14th century cobblestone streets, merchant houses, and church spires but step outside the walls and you'll find a thriving tech scene, craft breweries, and one of Europe's best-preserved art deco neighborhoods.

Kadriorg — Elegant park district with the Baroque palace, KUMU art museum, and leafy tree-lined avenues
Best time to visit
June through August for long days (nearly 24-hour daylight in midsummer), outdoor festivals, and warm weather. December for Christmas markets in Town Hall Square. September-October for autumn colors. Winter is cold (-10C) but atmospheric with snow.
Getting around
The Old Town is entirely walkable and car-free. Everything is within 15 minutes on foot
Trams and buses cover the wider city for $2 (free for registered residents, not tourists)
Bolt (the ride-hailing app) was founded here it's cheap and everywhere ($3-6 for city rides)
Airport to city center is 10 min by tram #4 for $2 or Bolt for $5-8
