Big news for Central Florida flyers: the MCO to Tokyo route just got a lot more interesting. With new service announcements and existing carriers scrambling to compete, we're seeing fares that would have been unthinkable a year ago.
What Happened
ANA announced new seasonal service from Orlando (MCO) to Tokyo Narita starting fall 2026, joining the existing JAL route. When two carriers compete on a long-haul route like this, prices drop. And they already have, we spotted economy fares at $580 round trip last week. For context, this route averaged $950-$1,200 for most of 2025.
Why This Matters for Florida Flyers
MCO having direct Tokyo service is huge. Before 2024, you had to connect through Dallas, Chicago, or LA to get to Japan from Florida. That added 4-8 hours each way. Now you can fly direct in about 14 hours, and with competition heating up, the pricing is getting aggressive.
We've already seen these fares pop up for members: - MCO to NRT: $580 round trip (economy, ANA) - MCO to NRT: $620 round trip (economy, JAL) - MCO to HND: $640 round trip (via connection, United)
Business Class Gets Interesting Too
Here's where it gets fun. ANA business class (which is phenomenal, one of the best in the sky) from MCO to Tokyo was showing $2,400 round trip during their intro sale. That's less than what a lot of people pay for Delta One from JFK. The product is better and the price is lower. We pushed this to Premium Plus members immediately.
The Booking Window
These intro fares won't last forever. ANA typically prices aggressively for the first 2-3 months of a new route and then raises prices once load factors stabilize. If you want Tokyo from Orlando at these prices, book for October-December 2026 travel now.
